VIDEO: Madison runs by Chatham to reach state final
Written by - Saturday, November 19 2011

Madison's defense is often overshadowed by its high-scoring offensive attack. In the North 2, Group II semifinal against Chatham, a tremendous day for the defense was again put on the back burner thanks to Justin Goodwin.

The Dodgers stifled Chatham all day long, never allowing the Cougars anywhere near the end zone. But it was the heroics of Goodwin that had people talking in the 29-0 Madison win.

The junior running back had three long touchdown runs while compiling 165 yards on 15 carries. He also made two remarkable catches and a great play on an interception.

Chatham's defense was much stronger in this game than in the Cougars' first matchup with Madison, which ended in a 50-8 loss. But it wasn't enough to pull off the upset, as Chatham's season ends at 7-4.

Madison, now 10-0, will play Millburn on Thanksgiving Day before heading to the sectional final. The NJSIAA has announced the Dodgers will face unbeaten Summit at Kean University on Friday, December 2nd.
